    • Light
Lipstick plants prefer bright, indirect light, but too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. If the plant isn't blooming well, it might need more light.
    • Water
Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. The soil should be kept on the dry side, but it shouldn't be allowed to dry out completely. In the growing season, water about once a week, and in the cooler months, water every 2–3 weeks.
    • Temperature
Lipstick plants prefer normal room temperature, but they should be kept away from hot or cold drafts. During the growing season, the soil temperature should be between 65–70°F. In the winter, the plant can be kept cooler and drier.
  • Humidity
Lipstick plants prefer high humidity levels, similar to their native rainforest environment. In drier rooms, you can mist the plant regularly.
  • Fertilizer
During the growing season, feed the plant with a liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks.
  • Pruning
After the flowering season, you can prune the plant to encourage thicker growth. You can also pick off any dry leaves.
  • Repotting
Repot the plant when it has outgrown its pot, using fresh, peat-free house plant compost with added sand or perlite. Repot before or after the main flowering period.
  • The Lipstick Plant, also known as Aeschynanthus radicans, is native to the humid rainforests of Southeast Asia. It's a popular indoor plant because of its trailing green vines and red, tubular flowers.
