Dracaena sanderiana, commonly known as Lucky Bamboo, is not actually a bamboo but a species of Dracaena. It originates from the rainforests of West Africa, particularly Cameroon and Nigeria, and is often associated with Feng Shui and believed to bring good luck.

Appearance

Indoors, Dracaena sanderiana typically grows to about 1-3 feet in height. It features slender, vertical stems with flexible, lance-shaped leaves that are a rich green color. The stems can be trained into various shapes, such as spirals or twists, adding to its decorative appeal.

Light
Prefers moderate, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the leaves.

Watering
Can be grown in water or soil. If in water, change it every 7-10 days; if in soil, keep it consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid using tap water if it is too chlorinated or contains high levels of fluoride, as this can cause leaf tip burn.

Temperature
Ideal temperatures range from 65°F to 90°F (18°C – 32°C).

Soil
If planting in soil, use a well-draining potting mix.

Fertilizing
If in water, use a liquid fertilizer every month; if in soil, a balanced fertilizer every two months will suffice.
