10" Lemon Lime Philodendron on Totem
The Lemon Lime Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum ‘Lemon Lime’) is a vibrant, trailing houseplant with neon green leaves that pop in any space. Here's how to care for it:
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can handle lower light but the vivid color may dull. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Like most philodendrons, it prefers slightly moist soil but hates being soggy. Yellowing leaves often signal overwatering.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but does fine in typical indoor conditions. If the air is very dry, occasional misting helps.
Temperature: Likes warmth—ideally between 65–80°F. Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature swings.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix for aroids or a general indoor plant mix with added perlite or orchid bark works great.
Fertilizer: Feed once a month in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Skip or reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested, so keep it out of reach of curious chewers.
