6" Croton
Light: Crotons love bright, indirect sunlight. Too little light causes dull or fading leaves, while too much direct sun can scorch them. A south- or east-facing window is ideal.
Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch feels dry. Crotons are sensitive to both over- and under-watering, so consistency is key.
Humidity: These tropical plants enjoy high humidity. Mist them regularly, use a pebble tray, or run a humidifier nearby—especially in dry indoor environments.
Temperature: Keep them in a warm spot (60–85°F) away from drafts, AC vents, or sudden temperature changes, which can cause leaf drop.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a standard houseplant blend with a little added perlite.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Cut back in fall and winter.
Toxicity: Crotons are toxic to pets and people if ingested, so keep them out of reach of curious mouths.
